Meet ALITA - Paws Behind Bars Prison Dog Trained

LET'S GET HER HOME FOR THE HOLIDAYS!

ALITA is a one-year-old female Mountain Cur mix who weighs 80 lbs. She is currently in our Paws Behind Bars program because you know the story.....Someone got her as a cute, little puppy and then she grew into a large, high energy, undisciplined teenager.

She is a lovely dog, and there's absolutely no sign of aggression - she just needed boundaries, structure, and someone who could take time with her. She's doing beautifully and now has command of basic obedience. She is now also very well socialized with people and other dogs. Her biggest issue? Her inmate gave her too many treats, and she packed on a few pounds. A change in diet and a request to add more run time, less walk time, and she's starting to find her waistline. (We apologize for some of the pictures we took while she looked like "Beefcake Betty.")

Her best home will have another young dog to play with and a fenced-in yard. She is leash-trained but, until she matures, she's still got plenty of puppy energy, and she's strong. Small children would be at risk of getting knocked over.
