Meet FIONA-Paws Behind Bars-Trained

FIONA is a 6-month-old Labrador Retriever mix. She had a rough start to life but is learning that not all humans are bad. Growing up underneath a shed on a farm already filled with too many dogs doesn't lend itself to proper socialization.

She's come a long way in the months we've had her! She pushed through her shyness so nicely that we enrolled her in our Paws Behind Bars prison dog training program! Her inmate has helped her overcome many obstacles. She is still quite shy but is sweet as pie.

She will need a patient family who is willing to continue to help her with her newly learned skills. She would do best in a home with another confident dog to show her the ropes. Older children will be fine. We anticipate she will be a large dog at maturity.

PLEASE NOTE:  If you’re interested in adopting, our process begins with the submission of our online application, or email us if you submitted an application within the last six months.  We review and schedule meet and greets (with approved applicants only) based on the order received.
